MBBS and BDS Seats in Jharkhand under State Quota | JCECEB Counselling 2020

The everlasting wait of all medical aspirants from Jharkhand is finally over. After a long gap of almost 20 years, the state finally has 4 new government Medical Colleges including AIIMS (Deoghar). After the approval of Supreme Court of India, Palamu Medical College, Dumka Medical College and Hazaribagh Medical College with 100-100 MBBS seats each have become fully operational since 2019.

Apart from 3 new Medical Colleges, RIMS (Ranchi) has 180 seats while MGM (Jamshedpur) and PMCH (Dhanbad) have 50-50 MBBS seats each. About 15% of these seats are available under All India Quota and are filled through NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) conducted by NTA every year. Hence, for native students 85 percent Medical seats are available under State Quota. Counselling for admission into Medical Colleges of Jharkhand under State Quota is done by JCECEB (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board) based on NEET Merit list.
