UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2020 New Exam Date | UPSC 2020 News


On 5 June 2020 after reviewing the countrywide situation, UPSC has released a new exam calendar for exams scheduled to be conducted this year. As per the new exam calendar, UPSC CSE or Civil Services Prelims 2020 exam will now be conducted on 4 October 2020.


According to the new exam calendar, UPSC will conduct Civil Services Main 2020 Exam starting 8 January 2021. Schedules of UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2020, CAPF AC 2020 Notification & Application Form and UPSC Civil Services Main 2020 exam have also been discussed on our YouTube Channel. Due to outbreak of Covid-19, numbers of patients were increasing day by day. To contain it, Indian government had imposed lockdown throughout the country till last week of May 2020. With increasing number of Coronavirus patients, several states had also expressed their intentions to extend the lockdown. With complete shutdown of public transport during lockdown in India, postponement of UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2020 was inevitable.


It had already been told by the Minister of State that students would get enough time for their exam preparation. UPSC has given ample time to students now to prepare well for this exam.

UPSC had earlier deferred the release of CAPF (AC) 2020 notification which was earlier expected to be released on 24 April 2020. Without significant improvement in the current situation, UPSC is likely to change the new tentative dates too.

UPSC Prelims 2024 postponed due to Lok Sabha Election

  Election commission of India has declared the dates for Lok Sabha election 2024. The general election will be conducted in seven phases throughout the country. UPSC Prelims 2024 was earlier scheduled to be held on 26 May 2024. The preliminary examination was falling in the midst of the last two phases of Lok Sabha election. As a result, UPSC Prelims 2024 has now been postponed to 16 June 2024.
