Important Documents for JCECEB Counselling 2020

 

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board or JCECEB is the apex body that conducts various entrance exams and counselling in Jharkhand. Though NTA conducts JEE Main and NEET, engineering and medical counselling for admission into various institutions of the state is conducted by JCECEB. What are the important documents required for JCECEB Counselling 2020? Read this post to know more. 

 

From 2020 onwards, JCECEB is asking to upload scanned copy of required documents while submitting online application for counselling. It means, candidates must possess essential documents like Residential Certificate, Caste Certificate, etc. before applying for JCECEB counselling.  

 

Important Documents for JCECEB Counselling 2020 

 

Residential Certificate: Only Jharkhand residents are eligible to take admission in an engineering, medical or other colleges of the state under state quota. Hence, a candidate must have Local or Permanent Residential Certificate or domicile of Jharkhand. It must be issued by Circle Officer (CO), SDO (Civil) or Deputy Commissioner of Jharkhand. Some students get confused with the option of local or permanent residential certificate. If you have either of them, you are eligible to take admission in colleges of Jharkhand under state quota.   

 

Caste Certificate: For availing reservation benefits, candidates must possess caste certificate issued by CO, SDO (Civil) or Dy. Commissioner of Jharkhand. Caste certificate of BC 1 and BC 2 category will be valid only if they belong to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) and it should be mentioned in the caste certificate. 

 

Certificate for EWS Category: Reservation under EWS category can be availed only by producing Income & Asset Certificate issued by CO, SDO (Civil) or Dy. Commissioner of Jharkhand. 

 

Income Certificate: This certificate is required only for those who want to claim admission in an Engineering college of Jharkhand under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme. For this they must submit Income certificate up to ₹8,00,000, issued by CO, SDO (Civil) or Dy. Commissioner of Jharkhand. 

 

Disability Certificate: Divyang candidates must possess Disability Certificate issued by competent authority (Chairman of the Medical Board and Countersigned by Medical Superintendent or CMO or Head of the Hospital of Jharkhand) for availing reservation benefits under Person with Disabilities. 

                         


Admit Card: For admission in Engineering or Medical Colleges of Jharkhand, candidates must have JEE Main or NEET Admit Card issued from NTA. If you have lost it, file an FIR for the lost admit card and carry the FIR copy along with you during document verification. 

 

In addition to these certificates, some candidates need to submit Dependency Certificate for reservation under Service Man Quota (SMQ). Similarly, Primitive Tribal Groups Candidates need to submit required Memorandum for availing reservation.    

 

During document verification, you must carry all original academic certificates like Class 10 and Class 12 Marks Sheet, Admit Card and Passing Certificate. You would be given the list of important documents during online counselling. Ensure you carry all of them during document verification.
