Pattern of XAT 2016

For taking admission into Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) of Jamshedpur for MBA courses, Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) will be conducted on 3 January 2016. Through this exam students can take admission into Human Resources Management, Business Management, General Management Program and Fellow Programs of Management. XAT is as difficult as the examination of CAT. You can apply for XAT from 4 September 2015 to 30 November 2015. Competition Overview

There are only 500 seats for which approximately 40,000 candidates used to apply. The distribution of seats for various courses, are as follows.

      1)      Business Management – 180 Seats

      2)      Human Resources – 180 Seats

      3)      General Management Program – 120 Seats

      4)      Global MBA Program – 20 Seats

Eligibility for XAT

     1)      For Human Resources and Business Management: Graduation degree in any subjects is necessary. Students who are studying in the final year of graduation can also apply for this exam.

     2)      For General Management Program: Graduation degree and five years of Managerial work experience is necessary for applying for this course. 

Fees

The duration of the course is two years and the annual fee is approximately 7.25 Lakh Rupees. Fees for IIM Ahmedabad are approximately 12 Lakh Rupees. In private institutes, fees for Symbiosis of MBA are approximately 4 Lakh Rupees. 

 

Exam Pattern of XAT 

Question paper of XAT will include questions from  following sections:

• Quantitative Ability
• English Language and Logical Reasoning
• Decision Making
• GK
• Essay

The duration of exam will be 3 hour and 30 minutes. It will start from 10 am and will continue till 1.30 pm. Mode of examination is Paper and Pen based.  

Selection Process

For Admission besides XAT, valid GMAT score can also be entertained. Based on it, students will be shortlisted for group discussion or personal interview and then merit list will be prepared.

XAT Score is valid in more than 110 Institutes

Based on XAT 2016 score, students can take admission into more than 110 Institutes. It includes Institutes like Birla Institute of Management and Technology (Greater Noida), MIT Pune, Mudra Institute of Communication (Ahmedabad), EMPI Business School (Delhi), etc. But for taking admission, one should apply for these Institutes separately in addition to that of XAT Registration.
