How to fill Online Application Form of JEE Main 2017?



CBSE has released the application form of JEE Main 2017. Interested candidates can apply for this examination on the official website of JEE Main through online mode only. The Pen & Paper Based Examination will be conducted on 2 April 2017. Computer Based Examination will be held on 8 and 9 April 2017. The last date to fill online form is 2 January 2017.

This year, CBSE has made it compulsory for the Indian candidates to provide their Aadhaar number while filling online form. Aadhaar details will be validated from the UIDAI website. In case, you don’t have Aadhaar, you can apply for the same at different facilitation centres setup by CBSE. You don’t need to pay for availing this service. After getting Aadhaar Enrolment number you can apply for the exam. How to fill Online Application Form of JEE Main 2017? Let us answer this.

For examination centres opted in foreign country, Rs 2500 and 3800 will be charged from General or OBC candidates for either Paper-1 or Paper-2 and both Papers respectively. SC, ST, PWD and Girls will be charged Rs 1250 and 1900 for either Paper-1 or Paper-2 and both Papers respectively.


Steps to fill Online Application Form of JEE Main 2017
1)   Go to official website of JEE Main i.e. www.jeemain.nic.in

2)   New candidates must register initially. Select “Apply for JEE (Main) 2017”. Read the instructions carefully and proceed ahead. Once your registration is complete, your application number is generated. You can use it along with your password to Sign In

3)   On Authentication Form screen, you need to enter your nationality, state of eligibility, state of your class 12th school. Identification type and its number, candidate’s name, date of birth and gender. Enter security pin and select “I Agree”. Then choose “Submit” button. Your Aadhaar number and details will be verified with UIDAI. On successful verification, you will be taken to next screen. Without verification of your Aadhaar details, you cannot proceed to the next step.

4)   In the next step, you need to enter your examination details like Paper choice, mode of examination, Exam centre choice & Question Paper medium, Personal details, Academic details, Contact details and Guardian details. Provide information carefully. 

5)   Now you need to upload scanned images of your recent photograph and signature in jpg/jpeg format. Your photograph should bear your name and date when it was clicked. It should have dimension 3.5cm × 4.5cm and its size should be between 4kb to 40kb.

Scanned image of your signature should be 3.5cm (wide) × 1.5cm (high). Size should be between 1kb to 30kb.

6)   In the next step, you need to submit examination fee. You can edit your details only before payment of exam fees. Hence, verify your details carefully. After submitting exam fee, you cannot edit your application form.

7)   One can submit JEE Main 2017 exam fee online through credit/debit card and also from e-wallet like SBI Buddy and Paytm. For offline submission of exam fee, you can opt for e-Challan which will be generated while filling online application form. Through e-Challan, exam fee can be submitted in Syndicate, Canara, ICICI or HDFC Bank.

8)   After successful payment of exam fee, take printout of Acknowledgement Page. Keep this page for future reference. You are not required to send this page to CBSE or JEE (Main) Secretariat.

Those candidates who have opted for Computer Based Exam Paper-1 should select date & slot after submitting exam fees or you will be allotted the same randomly depending on availability.
